BIO: Kimberly Phillips has a background in computer technology with a passion for cooking
ever since she was able to reach the stove. Her Italian grandmother and mother ensured
she learned how to cook traditional dishes perfectly, and helped her develop a love for
fresh foods through a large Victory Garden. Kimberly tended her own Victory Garden
almost every year since she was a child. She ate semi-vegetarian for ten years as a young
adult and practiced Macrobiotics, a lifestyle and dietary approach focused on achieving
balance in the body, mind, and spirit through mindful eating and living. Kimberly has
studied nutrition independently and enjoys utilizing her knowledge to help others.

My background is in computer technology, training, web design, graphic design, and video editing.  I am blending my skills with this endeavor and excited about how it is all coming together. I have multiple guests lined up and I’m just getting started.

Creating, editing, and producing videos has been a passion for decades. Actually, I started making slide show videos also when I was 17 years old. Currently armed with my DSLR mirrorless camera and several GoPro’s, I started a Facebook page about 5 years ago, Cape Cod Tales. It was mostly for fun but has become more real as is the (portfolio) website I’ve been cultivating, www.capecodtales.com.

Telling the Real Food Story

If it’s about eating healthy it’s worth talking about. The Real Food Tales mission is to enlighten people about what they eat, why to eat better, how to eat better and make informed choices about what you buy. A few basic questions to ask yourself before purchasing food:

  • Ask yourself, is the food organic (did it come from the ground –not certified organic)?
  • Is there healthy ingredients? (i.e., tomato, banana, beef, chicken)
  • Does it have nutritional value? (naturally, not added vitamins)
After becoming a member of Cape Media and taking the courses to become certified (which allowed me to borrow equipment and use the studios), I decided to start a food channel full of nutritional info, cooking lessons, guests, guidance on eating healthy, how to read labels and shop. Real Food Tales.

So, here we are.
